Johnson’s Veterinary Products is proud to announce that Coalville Pet Supplies has become the first ever recipient of the National Pet Shop Day Recognition Award, honouring the business for its outstanding contribution to the pet care industry, commitment to animal conservation and exceptional support for the local community.
Presented as part of National Pet Shop Day, the award has been created to recognise independent pet shops that go above and beyond for their customers, their communities and the animals they care for.
Coalville Pet Supplies was nominated by Coalville Public Radio, whose nomination highlighted the business’s decades of dedication to local people, charities, community organisations and animal welfare.
The award reads:

For many years, Bob, Diane and the team at Coalville Pet Supplies have become much more than a local pet shop. Their expert advice, quality products and personal service have earned them a loyal customer base across Leicestershire and beyond.
Away from the shop floor, they have quietly supported hundreds of community events, charities and community benefit organisations, donating prizes for fundraising events, sponsoring local initiatives and helping community groups raise vital funds. Much of this support has taken place behind the scenes, often without seeking recognition.
Their commitment to animals extends beyond pet retail. Through Midland Parrots, Bob and Diane have dedicated countless hours to rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming parrots whose owners can no longer care for them. They regularly care for birds that have been abandoned, help reunite lost parrots with their owners and promote responsible bird ownership through education and advice. Their passion for animal welfare and conservation has made a significant difference to both birds and their owners across the Midlands.
