Back in September, Johnson’s supported the International Sheep Dog Society (ISDS) as proud sponsors of their international trials.
The 2025 event took place at the scenic Brynkinalt Estate in North Wales, an ideal site to celebrate the incredible skill, heritage, and relationship of shepherds and their dogs.
For over a century, the ISDS has been at the heart of promoting the working Border Collie. This year’s trials brought together the finest handlers and dogs from England, Ireland, Scotland, and Wales to compete for the prestigious Supreme Champion title.
It was made even more memorable by the attendance of Her Royal Highness the Princess Royal, who visited the trials and met with trainers and organisers.
The challenging course at Brynkinalt tested the intelligence, agility, and instinct of each canine competitor, as well as the partnership between handler and dog.
Over the three days, there was an impressive display of talent across a number of categories. Every competitor showed dedication and hard work, but the judges saw something special in Supreme Champion Dewi Jenkins with Clwyd Bob, whose exceptional performance earned them the highest honour.

Aside from the individual titles, it was the Welsh team, captained by David Kevin Evans, who secured The Stirling Team Shield and became team champions with a collective score of 4350 points.
The International Sheep Dog Trials is a highly anticipated event in the countryside calendar, showcasing the practice of sheep herding and the skills that have been passed down through generations.
As a family-owned business, Johnson’s is proud of its heritage. The transfer of values, knowledge, and work ethic from early influences has carried us for over 100 years.
It’s this commitment to tradition and the appreciation of animals, in everyday life and at work, which strengthens and progresses the partnership between Johnson’s and the ISDS.
We look forward to seeing the continued success of the society and the acres of talent that is brought to the field for many years to come.
If you want to get involved in any upcoming trials or become a member, you can contact the ISDS here and explore your options.
